OLLONIAN 2013
This character has a long story behind him. He was based off of a character I had designed in the Spore Creature Creator. Later in 2011 when I learned how to model in Maya, I rebuilt the character from scratch. The textured model sat on my hard-drive until the of Fall 2013 when I found some time to rig and animated him. I quickly found out that the eye-stalks were the defining feature of the character as they could be used to emote curiosity, anxiety, and more. This was also my first attempt to use Vray as my rendering engine.

MONSTROSECT 2013
This insectoid character was based off of an earlier concept. It was an attempt to create a creature that was obviously an arthropod but with the build of a wolf or another medium size mammal. Animating a character with this many appendages turned out to be quite time intensive. The stuttery movements helped to make it a bizarre and frightening character.

WHEELHOUSE 2013
This was my Advanced Animation II project at Drexel University. I decided I wanted to tackle modeling and animating a human character set in a mundane science-fiction world. Modeling the character was a great exercise in human anatomy and 3D topology. In the rig I used twist-able ribbon elements. The exploding planet was added pretty late in development.

PINS & NEEDLES 2012
This was my Advanced Animation I project at Drexel University. The setting and the character were based off my experience in an undergraduate biology lab. This was my first attempt at designing and preparing a more grandiose animation project.

DRUMSET 2012
This was a short animation project done during the summer of 2012 at Drexel.
